12 Faces – also in Tourism

Why a competition and featuring kitchen teams of hospitals and homes for the elderly?

Salzburg has recognized
Inspired by the 2025 Recipe Calendar of the City of Salzburg, which my doughter and her company “needful” participated in creating, we decided to organize the “12 Faces of the Kitchen” competition. We want to show what often goes unnoticed: the importance and humanity of kitchen teams in hospitals and homes for the elderly.
Real care in a functional community
These teams don’t just cook for residents in care homes; they also prepare fresh meals every day for seniors living independently at home. That’s real care. That’s a functioning community.

Good intentions are not enough
Good intentions alone are not enough to balance family care and work – especially when life takes place across borders. There are hardly any established communication channels between employers, families, and institutions when loved ones live far away.
Trust, understanding, support
This is where we come in. What we do professionally every day – verifying information, creating context, supporting decisions – we now apply to 12 Faces of the Kitchen.
A competition with a calendar as its main outcome, not just showcasing beautiful images, but building trust and fostering understanding: for families carrying responsibility from afar, and for employers who can offer targeted support when they understand the reality.Petra Reinbacher
