Why kitchen staff in Croatian elderly homes?

Vienna, 16.07. 2025
I was given the honor to plan and design the DACH (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) booth at this year’s International Women Club Zagreb (IWCZ) Christmas Bazaar – a task I accepted with joy and responsibility.
The charity bazaar is organized with the overwhelming support of the Zagreb-based embassies and country organizations. Ambassadors and employees decorate their booths with unique products from their home countries – which are then sold for a good cause. This year, all proceeds from the Christmas bazaar will be donated to the “POGLED” association – an organization that helps young people with autism.
At the DACH booth, we will be selling the “12 Faces of the Kitchen” calendar – a communication bridge between employers in German-speaking countries, their employees from Croatia, and their families in their home country.
A calendar that does good
In my daily work, I deal with the challenges families face – especially in the tension between health, care, and work.
This project was inspired by the city of Salzburg, my involvement with the IWCZ, and the desire to give something back – especially to people who can’t always afford professional support.
Overcoming Borders
The calendar will be distributed internationally, especially in German-speaking countries (DACH). The proceeds from sales go to humanitarian projects – while also funding consultations for kitchen staff and their families.
Because good care begins with good communication – and that often begins in the kitchen.
