This beginning carries important symbolism. Exactly one hundred years ago, my great-grandfather Nikola Kajfeš left for America to work. Today, at the same address, I am building a different story – instead of departure, a space is being created that brings people together, connects them, and enables development.
The goal of the Gorski Center is the management and coordination of various projects, programs, research activities, and initiatives.
The implementation of activities on-site and through online environments does not depend on the pace of construction works – we are starting immediately, with coordination from the center in Vienna.

CENTER ACTIVITIES
FOCUS OF WORK
MEDICAL CENTER
It provides lasting help to people balancing demanding jobs with family care, to singles, and to those facing the challenges of illness or old age.
The mountainous location, which is intended to host the administration of virtual support services for the international community of medical professionals, will not only be a coordination center for exclusive destinations, but also a training center for innovative housing and a center for reforms in rural medicine.
ASTHMA CENTER
Center for the development of recovery and rehabilitation programmes in a unique geographical location. ⇒
The unique geographical position of coniferous forests in close proximity to the sea creates a natural laboratory for the development of specialised recovery and rehabilitation programmes for people with asthma.
The Asthma Centre will also be a place of professional dialogue — a space where diverse approaches, ideas and business perspectives of modern pulmonology meet.
A prime location for over a century
Amerikanska 3 is a site with a century-long tradition. On the 100th anniversary (1926–2026) of his departure to America, I pay tribute to the emigrants of American Street and initiate the development of the Business and Medical Center as a development platform for future generations.

A century of entrepreneurship
Over time, the premises housed an insurance office and a notary public office, making the building well known beyond the borders of Gorski Kotar.
A century-long foundation of medicine
Medical activity at Amerikanska 3 in Delnice began even before the Second World War with the work of the district epidemiologist. In the 1960s, a dental practice with an X-ray unit operated there.
In 1991, the first private physical therapy practice in Croatia was opened. From the same address, the first mobile electrotherapy service in patients’ homes was launched.
Since 1993, the headquarters of Hedela has represented a precursor to the coordination of medical resources, particularly in respiratory diseases. One of the first public-private partnerships in healthcare in Croatia was also established in Delnice.
The Asmal patient association has its roots here, where multimedia materials and a magazine for asthma patients were created.
In 1996, I initiated the first telemedicine consultations in Croatia, and members of the organizing committee of the first telemedicine conference in Croatia met at this address.
A hundred years ago, my great-grandfather left this street to seek opportunity in the world.
Today, from the same address, I am launching a platform through which international activities are conducted from Delnice.
Our vision, embodied in OpinioNet and Opinion HUB, is not a reaction but a recognition of what is possible.
